Andrew
Murray was the son of Mary Tinneny and Patrick Murray. He was
born at Derrykenny, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh. He was
baptized in Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Newtownbutler. He
attended the Wattlebridge School.
He overcame the
obstacle of being to young to serve in the army by changing the
birth date on his birth certificate and successfully enlisted.
Andy spent seventeen years in the Army and served in many places
including two tours of duty in India, in Palestine and in Egypt.
Andy married
Molly McAdam and lived with his wife near the town of Clones.
They had a son James. The couple went to England for a period
of time. He returned to Ireland and spent many years in the
hospital at Omagh in County Tyrone. He died when he was about
eighty years old. He and Molly had no other children.
Note: Andrew had no surviving descendants.
