Herminie Barbara "Minnie" Sickinger

Herminie Sickinger was the third child and second daughter of Catherine Tinneny and Michael Sickinger.  Herminie was born while her parents lived at 4416 Mansion Street in Manayunk.  Like her brothers and sisters, Herminie went to Saint Mary's Primary School.

In mid-life her mother had another child Marie Veronica and at about the same time began to experience serious problems.  As a result of her mother's condition, Minnie in essence took the role of caring for and raising her little sister Marie.

Like her mother, Herminie had a nervous condition and as a result she never married.  Her nephew Bob Sickinger remembered her as a big woman.  He recalled how there was a man who lived in Manayunk who courted her for many years.  He wanted to marry her but due to her condition she never agreed to marry him.  Bob recalled how the gentleman was very much in love with her until the day she died. Minnie died of cancer in Sacred Heart Hospital in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.

Note Hermine had no descendants. .
