Thomas Tinneny
Thomas Tinneny
was the son of Thomas Tinneny 1 (1734-1807). He was born on Goladuff. He lived in Belturbet where he and his wife raised their
family. Thomas' great-great-granddaughter Mary Tinneny O'Kane
recalled hearing that her grandfather, Tommy Tinneny had an uncle
who fought in the battle of Ballinamuck (he would have been a son of
this Thomas Tinneny).
Thomas was an
uncle of "Big John" Tinneny of Goladuff. Phil Tinneny, of Goladuff,
who died at 93 years of age in 1994, remembered that, the
descendants of this Thomas Tinneny living in Belturbet when Phil was
a young boy, were recognized by Phil's family on Goladuff as
cousins. Likewise, Phil remembered himself and members of his
family visiting these cousins in Belturbet.
