Alexander J. Tinneny

Cadet Private First Class Alexander “Al” Tinneny, Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, received the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, JROTC Citation and Medal.

The awards were presented May 11, 2022 during the end of year awards ceremony at Blythewood High School, Blythewood, South Carolina in recognition for his “Outstanding Achievements and Exceptional Leadership Abilities.” Al is assigned to Charlie Company of the school’s Bengal Battalion.

Al with his brother Chris who was able to get away from his military duties with the Army Reserve to attend the ceremony.

Al’s grandparents, family and friends were delighted to attend the ceremony. 

Al is the is the son of Matthew and Jennifer Cloer Tinneny of Elgin and Richland County, South Carolina; grandson of Richard and Lee Tinneny of Columbia, South Carolina; great-grandson of John and Helen Diamond Tinneny of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; great-great-grandson of James and Gertrude Spence Tinneny of Philadelphia and great-great-great-grandson of Patrick Yankee Pat” Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia and his wife Margaret Malloy.
