Henry and
Rory, the sons of Ryan and Charlotte
Carter Pierce of Halifax, Nova Scotia went on
their first treasure hunt with their grandfather
John Carter. John had received a metal detector
from his wife Alyson for Christmas. He and the
boys eagerly waited for the ground to thaw in
Halifax so they could hunt for treasure. With
great anticipation the three of them went on
their first hunt in early May on the beach near the Dingle
Tower in Halifax. They found a single
deeply buried penny. Hopefully it’s the
beginning of a life long hobby.
The boys are
the great-great grandsons of Robert
and Elizabeth (Murphy) Tinneny of
Carrigallen, County Leitrem, Ireland.
