John Maher (R)
Sheriff Robert Nolan presented Bob with his
retirement badge and Plaque recognizing his 25 years
of service to Cape May County.
Although Bob’s official retirement date and ceremony was
January 1, 2023 his last work day was December 22nd and
that day he posted the following message:
“25 years ago on this day, I walked through the
doors of the Cape May County Correctional Center not
knowing what to expect or what was ahead of me.
Throughout those 25 years I have experienced things
that I never imagined, some good, some bad.
I
have had the opportunity to work with some of the
most incredible supervisors, officers, support staff
and staff from agencies across the Delaware Valley
and even beyond. I have even developed lifelong
friendships with many of them. I also could never
forget those that I looked up to and learned so much
from who have passed away. I consider it an honor to
have served Cape May County and will forever be
grateful for that opportunity.
Lastly, I would not have been able to complete this
journey without the support of my family and am
especially proud to have had the chance to work
alongside my daughter as she worked efficiently and
professionally to support the operations of the
facility.
So as I walked out of those doors today, I held my
head high, proud of what I accomplished and thankful
for all of the people who have contributed to a
lifetime of memories. Thank you all for this
incredible experience.”
