Niamh And Aoife McGuinness

Aoife and Niamh are the daughters of Martin and Donna Smyth McGuinness of Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh. Northern Ireland. They were on the u13s Girls GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association of Ireland) football team that won the Fermanagh League Cup at Derrylin, Fermanagh, October 6, 2024. 

 Aoife #7 plays defense and her younger sister Niamh #24 plays forward line on the Newtownbutler First Fermanagh Ladies team. Their team beat Derrygonnelly by 5 points in the competition. Their father, Martin was the team coach. Aoife is in second year at St. Kevin's College, Lisnaskea and Niamh is in grade P7 in Saint Mary’s Primary School,  Newtownbutler.

Niamh and Aoife are the granddaughters of John and Jane McGuinness of Newtownbutler; great-granddaughters of James and Maryann McEntyre Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh; great-great-granddaughters of John Big Johnand Margaret McAdam Tinneny; great-great-great granddaughters of Hugh Tinneny  and great-great-great-great granddaughters of Thomas Tinneny (1734 - 1807) all of Goladuff.

Note: Football in Ireland is like soccer in America. The difference is, in the Irish version the players can use their hands in the English/American version the players can only use their feet.
