In
1980 Donna Tinneny painted a mural on the railroad retaining
wall along Main Street near Green Lane in the Manayunk
section of Philadelphia. Manayunk is the section of
Philadelphia to which Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny emigrated
in 1901 from Greenock, Scotland with his wife and family.
Donna was assisted by several of her nephews who were young
children at the time and others. When it was completed,
Donna dedicated the mural to Philadelphia police officer
Gary Farrell who was shot and killed in the line of duty
around the time Donna was doing the mural.
By
2010 the mural was badly faded and Donna was contacted and
asked to re-do it. With the financial support of local
businesses she agreed to do it and the once faded tribute
was re-done.

Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny of
Goladuff, Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland;
Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia.
