Whilst on his
break from University, he was given the
opportunity to work as security for the London
2012 Olympic Games. Billed as the
greatest show on earth and following months of
training, he arrived at the Olympic Park.
Relocating to London for two months was great
fun visiting venues and bumping into Athletes
became an everyday occurrance. John was
promoted to Team Leader after two weeks in
charge of patrolling venues. The
festival atmosphere around London made for a
thoroughly enjoyable time, making friends from
across the world and is opening new horizons.
Everything went off without a hitch and he's
proud to look back and say "I was there".
John is the son of Paul Sherwood and Deborah and great-great grandson of
Mary Tinneny of Goladuff.
