Pondering completion of her academic career and
participation in organized soccer, Erin wrote of the
sports impact on her life:
“Still having trouble coming to terms with the end of
this chapter: This beautiful game has always meant so
much more to me than winning and losing. It’s
been an opportunity to ignite passion, joy, and drive in
myself. The chance to inspire those around me to
accomplish what they could never believe. The countless
hours and sacrifices made to create team results. The
bond between teammates that have turned into lifelong
friends. And more than enough memories to last a
lifetime. Thank you to my family, coaches, trainers, and
friends for making all these seasons so special. My
years of playing might be over, but my love for the game
will forever carry on.”
