James Darcy

James Darcy of Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland was presented a Bachelor of Science degree in Mental Health Nursing at the April 2022 commencement of The University of Ulster, Derry City, Londonderry, Northern Ireland.  

Although the degree was in awarded September 2020, the actual commencement ceremony was delayed due to the Covid pandemic. Prior to completion of his degree program, James and many other of the nursing students were deployed to work with COVID pandemic patients. During that time James was assigned to work in an acute male psychiatric ward and a psychiatric intensive care ward where he continues to work in 2022.  

Since earning his nursing credential he has completed a level 1 EMDR therapy course. EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy - commonly used for patients who have experienced Traumatic events in their lives. He has also qualified as a electroconvulsive therapy nurse.

Graduating along with James was his fiancé Katie Gregson. The couple met while they were pursuing their nursing degrees and became engaged in January 2021 with wedding plans for June 2023. Both are certified as psychiatric nurses.

 

James is the son of Philip and Bernadine Bernie” Curran Darcy of Enniskillen; grandson of James and Mary Molly” Tinneny Curran of Brookeborough, County Fermanagh; great-grandson of Francis and Margaret Coleman Tinneny of Roslea, County Fermanagh; great-great grandson of Francis and Annie Dolan Tinneny of Belturbet, Co. Cavan, Ireland; great-great-great-grandson of Francis and Ann Elliott Tinneny of Belturbet and great-great-great-great-grandson of Thomas Tinneny of Goladuff, Co. Fermanagh.
