OBITUARY

John Tinneny

1943 - 1948 

John Tinneny, four, of 129 Ripka Avenue, died of a fractured skull at 1:50 p.m. at Memorial Hospital, 10 minutes after admittance. The boy, a twin, was knocked unconscious at Smick street and Leverington avenue. 15 minutes earlier when the sled on which he was coasting crashed into the right rear wheel of an oil truck-trailer, traveling west on Leverington avenue. He did not regain consciousness. The Suburban Press, February 19, 1948.

John was the son of Joseph Tinneny and Mary Veronica Knoll and great-grandson of  of Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Ireland; Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Margaret Malloy.
