Tinneny Jr. James was the son of James Joseph and Gertrude Ann Spence Tinneny of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the grandson of Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia and his wife Margaret Malloy.
