James J. Tinneny III is the son of James
J. Tinneny Jr. of Philadelphia and Margaret Casey.
Following his graduation from Villanova University, Jim was
drafted into the United States Army in 1956. In April
1957, after initial assignments in Texas and Georgia, he set
sail aboard a troop ship bound for Liverpool, England and an
assignment to Germany. He served in Germany until 1958
at which time he returned to the United States and a brief
assignment at Fort Meade, Virginia where he was separated from
the army and returned to the Philadelphia area.
