Catharine Marie “Kitty” McColgan was the daughter of Mary Jane
Tinneny and John McColgan. She was born in New Jersey and became
a nurse while living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following
her marriage to Dick Steele and moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas
she worked for Dr. James Patrick at the Spring Street Clinic. As
part of her nursing duties she assisted with the training of
medical students. Kitty was the granddaughter of
Patrick "Yankee Pat" Tinneny
of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern
Ireland, Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia and his wife
Margaret Malloy.
