James Toland was the husband of
Catherine Murray, the
daughter of Mary Tinneny of Goladuff and Derrykenny. He was from
Lurgan. He served in France with the 1st Battalion of the Irish
Fusiliers during World War I. His son Andrew followed in his
foot steps when he enlisted in the Royal Irish Fusiliers following World
War II. Following the war, James and Catherine raised their 14
children in Lurgan, Ireland and Manchester, England.
