Gavin is the son of Patrick and Shirley Tinneny of South Carolina. He is a member of the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) at North Central High School, Cassatt, South Carolina.  In June 2015 he attended the JROTC summer camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Gavin is the grandson of Rich and Lee Tinneny of Columbia, SC and the great-great-great grandson of Patrick “Yankee Pat” and Margaret Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.
