Terry was born in
Philadelphia, PA, on Oct 27, 1975 and graduated from
Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights, New
Jersey, on June 4, 1994. He enlisted in the Air Force in
1996 and was trained as a Survival Equipment Technician.
Throughout his Air Force career, he served as a Test
Parachutist, Development-Operational Test Evaluator and
Academy Military Trainer. As of 2021 his assignments
include bases in Washington, Alaska, North Carolina,
Hawaii, Nevada, and Colorado and
Oklahoma. March 1, 2021 he was promoted to the rank of
Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank in the
United States Air Force. A rank limited by Congress to

Terry is the son of Joseph and Debbie
Rodkey Murphy Jr. of Gloucester City, New Jersey;
grandson of Joseph and Grace Hanley Murphy of Gloucester
City; great-grandson of James and Mary Anne Murray
Murphy; great-great-grandson of Patrick
and Mary Tinneny Murray,
of Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; 3 x
great-grandson of
Mary Tinneny
of Goladuff and 4 x great-grandson of Hugh
Tinneny of
Goladuff.
