Hi Clan: Phew! still a bit boat/car
lagged but these are a few pics hot from my digital camera and I thought you might
like to see them. They are shots of a recent trip to Knoydart in the
NorthWest Highlands of Scotland. Overall the weather was fantastic and
myself and my good friend Adrian had a great time wandering about on a
five-day backpack around this remote mountain wilderness area. It is
accessible only by boat from Mallaig or by a very long walk-in from
Kinlochhourn (we're both pushing forty - so we got the boat!). The
highest camp was at roughly 2500ft at the southerly end of the summit
ridge of Ladhar Bheinn (3346ft). From there we were fortunate enough to get
both a clear view from the summit, as well as one of the most spectacular
mountain sunsets I think I've ever seen. It made up for the five days
of ever-more inedible dried food and those flesh-hungry midges... I
