Eileen Tierney (Tinneny) Stolte the granddaughter of
Francis Tinneny of Belturbet and her husband Ken visited Ireland
August 19 to 25, 2005. They broke away from their tour and drove up
from Dublin to Belturbet where they were warmly greeted by Hubert &
Susanna Tinneny of Quivvy, Belturbet.
Eileen and Ken walked around Belturbet and saw the
house where her grandfather was born and where he lived until he and
his bride Kate Reilly immigrated to New York in 1912. After
arriving the United States the Family changed their name to Tierney
while living in New York City.
During their visit Hubert and Susanna took them to
visit cousin Betty Tinneny in Roslea, County Fermanagh. Eileen had
never met any Tinnenys until this trip to Ireland and the visit at
Quivvy. She contacted Rich through the Tinneny web site and he
arranged for the meeting with Hubert Tinneny and his family.
