John Englishby of Hartlepool, England passed away suddenly on 27th December 2024 after a
short illness, He was born on 4th April, 1963 in Weymouth,
Dorset, his parents were David Englishby (deceased) and
Mary Patricia Englishby nee Murray, he was the eldest of
3 other siblngs – Anthony (deceased), Sheila (deceased),
and Kathleen.
John enlisted in
the British Army and was assigned to the Royal Signals,
7th Signal Regiment from 1979 to 1987. His spent 3
tours of duty in Northern Ireland one of which was in
West Belfast in 1984.
After leaving the Army John worked as a Rigger. He
enjoyed fishing when time allowed which wasn’t often, he
also enjoyed going to his local pub for a pint and
meeting up with friends. He worked on a contract basis
which took him all over the UK, Denmark and Canada.
In recent years John developed health problems which
limited his work activities, however he continued to
work whenever he could and was due to commence a new
contract in January 2025.
John never married and is survived by his beloved mother Mary,
uncle Michael and sister Kathleen,
also a treasured uncle and great-uncle.
he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service
was held at Stranton Grange
Crematorium on Monday 13th January, 2025,
followed by burial in Stranton Cemetery.
John was the grandson of of Patrick Murray and Mary
Kathleen Reilly of Newtownbutler, great-grandson of Patrick Murray and
Mary Tinneny
of Derrykenny, Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern
Ireland,
and great-great-grandson of Mary
Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler.
