Ed was the grandson of Mary Jane Tinneny of
Philadelphia and John McColgan. His father was Edward D
McColgan. He entered the United StatesAir Force in 1960 from his
home in San Diego California. In the Air Force, Ed served as a
radar repairman at a radar site in in north central Alaska, 27 miles
below the Arctic Circle for a year and was there during the Cuban
crisis. Following his tour of duty he returned to his home in San
Diego California.
