Nicholas “Nicky” Toland

Nicky Toland of Manchester, England is an avid fisherman.  On March 21, 2019 he spent the night camped out at a 3 acre lake in the Bury section of greater Manchester. He is an expert carp fisherman and caught several really large mirror carp this trip, the largest of which weighed 21 pounds and 1 ounce. The” big one” was caught at 6:00am on a boles top water lure with a yellow artificial sweet corn attached using 15-pound test line. Nicky said that he usually fishes for 24hrs hours at a time during the fishing season and said he sets up camp on whichever lake venue he decides to fish.  As is his usual practice, he released the fish shown here back into the lake.

This is home when Nicky is on his fishing trips. And he even fishes while he is sleeping on that cot. He has alarms attached to the 3 fishing rods that he  sets out and the alarms wake him up if a fish gets hooked.

Nicky is the son of Vincent and Lesley Toland, the grandson of Michael Gabriel Toland, great-grandson of  Katherine Murray and James Toland, the great-great grandson of Mary Tinneny and Patrick Murray and the great great-great grandson of Mary Tinneny of Goladuff, Newtownbutler, county Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
