Joseph T. Tinneny, age 84, of Philadelphia, PA
passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025. He was
born in Philadelphia, PA on June 22, 1941, the son
of the late Joseph T. and Mary (Knoll) Tinneny.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Roxborough-Manayunk
and was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church. He was a retired Firefighter with the
Philadelphia Fire Department and founded Tinneny’s
Exterminating. He was very active as a youth sports
coach and was a member of both the Pennsylvania and
Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. He honorably
served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Susan
Tinneny (née
Feret) of Roxborough; two sons, Joseph (Christine)
Tinneny, III of Doylestown and Kevin (Christy)
Tinneny of Roxborough; sister, Betty Thummel of
Roxborough; and brother, Robert Tinneny of
Roxborough. He is also survived by four
grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Jared and Bella, as
well as many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by
four sisters, Maryann Long, Eileen Mullen, Doris
Janson, Joyce Kresge; and brother, John Tinneny.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November
14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church, 819 Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128.
Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on
Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the
Church. Interment will be private at a later date.

memorial contributions made in his name to
