OBITUARY

Betty June Hart

Betty June Hart, age 83, of Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026.  

Born on December 20, 1942 in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Kathryn (nee. Butler) Schaeffer. 

After raising her two children, Betty pursued various jobs, including positions at Lansdale Discount House, HMO, and Berger Henry ENT. 

She later worked at Wegmans, where she began with the store’s opening in November 2013 and remained until May 2022. 

In her free time, Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing, going for walks, and spending her summers in Cape May, New Jersey.  

She was incredibly social and proudly referred to herself as a “people person.”  

She cherished spending time with her family and friends, and everywhere she went, she seemed to make a new group of friends. 

Betty faithfully attended Mass every Saturday evening at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church and continued attending Sunday Mass services at Elm Terrace. 

Surviving are her loving children Michael Hart and his wife Janet and Patricia "Patti" Maleski and her husband Chuck, grandchildren, Madison, Austen (Sierra), Kayla (Will), Larson (Shannon) and Allison, great grandchildren, Julian, Emery and Weston as well as brother, Jimmy Schaeffer and sisters Sharon Kukulka and Kathie Bagley.  

In addition to her parent's she was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Schaeffer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Betty's Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Rd, North Wales, PA 19454, where the family will receive friends in the Church Narthex, prior to Mass, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.

Betty’s husband Michael F. Hart Sr. was the son of Francis and Helen Townsend Hart Sr., grandson of Cornelius and Alice Tinneny Hart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and great-grandson of Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny” of Goladuff, Newtownbutler , County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia, and his wife Margaret Malloy.
