Susan
was the daughter of Edward and Mary Tinneny Haughey of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Saint
Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. She was
Commissioned a captain in the Air Force earning the
Bronze Star medal for her work nursing combat casualties
in Vietnam. After Vietnam she served at military
installations over seas and in the United States and
retired from the profession in 2003.
Susan was the
granddaughter of
James and Gertrude Spence Tinneny of
Philadelphia and the great-granddaughter of
Patrick “Yankee Pat” Tinneny of Goladuff,
Newtownbutler, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland,
Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia and his wife
Margaret Malloy.
