The following acknowledgement note was published in
the local newspaper following the funeral.
McGRATH, Gerry. The wife, sons, daughters, sister
and family circle of the late Gerry McGrath wish to
sincerely thank all those who sympathized with them
in their recent bereavement, to all those who called
at the house, telephoned, sent Mass and sympathy
cards, flowers, attended the funeral or helped in
any way, your thoughts were greatly appreciated. A
special thank you to Monsignor Aiden Hamill who
celebrated the Requiem Mass, Joe French for his
beautiful singing during the Mass, thanks also to
the piper. Thank you to the Doctors and staff of
William Street surgery and the Doctors and Nursing
staff of C.A.H. and Lurgan Hospital who cared for
Gerry over a number of years. Thanks to Francie and
Mary McAlinden, of McAlinden & Murtagh Funeral
Directors for the caring and compassionate manner in
which they carried out the funeral arrangements. We
trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted by
all as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
Gerry’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on
Tuesday 8th October in St Peter’s Church, Lurgan at
7:00pm.
Gerry was the husband of Mary Theresa “Maureen”
Lennon of Lurgan. She was the daughter of John &
Bridget Murray Lennon of Lurgan, Co. Armagh,
Northern Ireland, Granddaughter of Patrick and
