OBITUARY

Mary Theresa Murphy McGroarty

1927 - 2007

McGROARTY
Mary (Nee Murphy), on June 23, 2007, of Deptford, New Jersey age 80. Beloved wife of the late John McGroarty, mother of the late Jim McGroarty, passed away as she lived, calm, peaceful & with dignity at the home of her daughter Peggy.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Robert (Amy) of Pitman, Gerald (Lisa) of Glassboro, two daughters, Joan of Blackwood and Peggy (Joe) of Deptford, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, also her brother Joseph Murphy and sister, Fran Murphy Lafferty.

Mrs. McGroarty was a long-time resident of Gloucester City & Deptford. She was schooled in Ireland and graduated from St Mary’s & Gloucester Catholic H.S. and Saint Francis School of Nursing, Trenton, and was a surgical nurse.

Mary and John owned McGroarty’s News Agency and Auto & Truck Center, Gloucester City for over 30 years.

A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Patrick’s Church, Woodbury on Wednesday, June 27 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr. Ste #300, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Mary was the daughter of James and Mary Anne Murray Murphy; granddaughter of Patrick and Mary Tinneny Murray, of Newtownbutler, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland; great-granddaughter of Mary Tinneny of Goladuff and great-great-granddaughter of Hugh Tinneny of Goladuff.
